AGRICULTURAL UNIVERSITIES IN PUNJAB (PAKISTAN)
1. The Government of Punjab, Pakistan is seeking the services of outstanding professionals of international repute for appointment as Vice Chancellors of the following Universities:-
(a) University of Agriculture, Faisalabad having its main campus at Faisalabad and sub-campuses at Dera Ghazi Khan, Toba Tek Singh and Depalpur Okara (www.uaf.edu.pk).
(b) Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi having its main campus at Rawalpindi and Sub-campus at Khushab (www.uaar.edu.pk).
2. These are leadership positions with main responsibility of promoting academic excellence, transparent governance and motivating the university faculty and administration to work together for achieving increasingly higher standards of teaching, learning and research.
3. The position also requires rich experience in academic and financial management with proven track record of skills in initiating and managing change, strategic planning, overseeing implementation and the capability of mobilizing resources for the university and its research programme and networking with national and international institutions.
4. Other skills required for Vice Chancellors of these Agricultural Universities include the ability to integrate the results of agricultural research into agricultural education and to spread the benefits of both to the farmers through a modern system of dissemination and extension.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- Ph.D. or equivalent degree in any relevant academic discipline from a recognised University.
- Less than 60 years of age.
- Both male and female candidates are eligible.
- Quality research publications in journals of international repute.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Tenure They shall hold office during the pleasure of the Chancellor for a term not exceeding four years with effect from the date of joining for a period of four years with a probation period of twelve months.
Pay Pay and benefits as admissible to Management Position Scale-II (MP-II). In case of approval by the Punjab Government, the following salary package shall be admissible in place of MP-II:-
i. Basic salary equivalent to Professor at Tenure Track System.
ii. Vice Chancellor Allowance @ 20% of basic pay.
iii. Transport and medical facilities as per entitlement of BPS-22.
iv. Any other perk and privilege granted by the Chancellor as deemed necessary under peculiar circumstances.
5. Eligible candidates are requested to apply on plain paper, indicating
the University for which the application is being made, alongwith the following documents:-
- Curriculum vitae.
- Copies of educational certificates/degrees/diplomas/ testimonials.
- Three recent passport size photographs.
- List of Research Publications (if not included in C.V).
- A vision statement for the University (not more than one page).
6. The application complete in all respects should reach the address
given below not later than 14th February, 2012. Only short listed candidates shall be
