Expression of Interest

Law firms/Lawyers

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (the “Authority”) invites expression of interest from reputed law firms/individual Lawyers for seeking legal advices on various telecom issues and to handle and pursue court cases of PTA before various courts of law/Forums/Tribunals in Pakistan.

Applications are invited from law Chambers/Law Firms/ Lawyers to undertake the following, as and when required by the Authority.

(i)                 To advise the authority on legal issues concerning regulation of telecommunication:
(ii)               To prepare legal documentation, preparing written replies / reports/ conveyncing/ pleading/ arguments of court cases and to appear and defend the authority before the courts of law/firms/tribunals.

The applicant must have sufficient experience of Regulatory work/practice in telecommunication and sound knowledge of how Regulatory authorities work in Pakistan and abroad. The applicant must have valid license to do practice of law under legal Practioners and Bar Councils Act, 1973 and have been enrolled as an advocate of supreme court of higher Courts with civil/criminal/corporate/tax matters. Preference shall be given to those who have foreign qualification, special expertise, knowledge and practice relating to telecommunications laws and regulatory issues.

Interested law firms/ lawyers, who have relevant experience in the matter, are requested to please send their firms’ profiles including C.V’s of associates/partners and in case of individual counsels C.Vs, along with brief detail of cases assigned and succeeded in the Courts.

No retainership will be paid. The selected firms/Advocates will be placed on Panel of PTA and may be engaged on case to case basis and a and when required. Mere placing the name of a lawyer/ Law firm on panel shall not grant any right for assigning of court cases.

The applications must reach within two weeks of the publication of this advertisement to Director General (law & Regulations) PTA Headquarters, F-5/1, Islamabad.

The Authority reserves the right to reject any or all such expressions received pursuant to this advertisement and to annual this process at any time without assigning any reason (s).
