Sultan Qaboos University Hospital is a government institution and a teaching hospital situated within the campus of the Sultan Qaboos University and has 550 beds capacity.

DEPARTMENT OF ANAESTHESIA:

SENIOR CONSULTANT/CONSULTANT IN PAEDIATRIC ANAESTHESIA (1 VACANCY):

Basic Qualification:

M.D. in Anaestheisa or an equivalent accepted degree in anaesthesia where the training is not less than 3 years.

Additional Qualification: Fellowship in Paediatric anaesthesia or dedicated experience in paediatric anaesthesia for not less than 5 years with publications in indexed journals.

Requirements:

Should be able to handle elective and emergency anaesthetics for all types of paediatric surgery including neonates. 

Salary:  Range from Riyal Omani 2100/- to 2800/- (inclusive of allowances per month)
 

SENIOR CONSULTANT/CONSULTANT IN INTENSIVE CARE (1 VACANCY):

Basic Qualification:

M.D. in Anaesthesia/General Medicine or an equivalent accepted degree in Anaesthesia/General medicine where the training is not less than 3 years.

Additional Qualification:  Fellowship in Intensive care or dedicated experience in intensive care for not less than 5 years with publications in indexed journals.

Salary:  Range from Riyal Omani 2100/- to 2800/- (inclusive of allowances per month)

SENIOR CONSULTANT FOR ANAESTHESIA/CRITICAL CARE

Qualification:

  • MD or MBBS
  • Exit qualification or equivalent (FRCS, FRCP, American-Board, MRCPath)
  • Entry qualification or equivalent (MRCOG, MRCPCH, MRCP)
  • At least 4 years experience working as a Consultant

Salary:  Range from Riyal Omani 2850/- (inclusive of allowances per month)

SENIOR REGISTRAR :

Qualification:

  • MD or MBBS
  • Entry qualification or equivalent
  • At least 3 years structured in the specialty training
  • At least 4 years working experience as Registrar or 8 years as Senior House Officer

Salary:  Range from Riyal Omani 1480/- (inclusive of allowances per month)

REGISTRAR :

Qualification:

  • Entry qualification (MRCOG, MRCPCH, MRCP, MRCPSYCH, MRCP, FRCS)
  • At least 3 years working experience as Registrar or 5 years as Senior House Officer
Salary:  Range from Riyal Omani 1280/- (inclusive of allowances per month)

BENEFITS:

Tax-free salary in Oman and in addition to a good remuneration package, free furnished accommodation, electricity and water allowance, 48 days paid annual leave with return air ticket, end of contracts service gratuity and free medical treatment in the hospital.  Contracts are for 2 years, renewable by mutual agreement.
