Foreign Scholarship For PHD AT University of Liverpool, UK
Applications are invited under Higher education Commission’s funded project “Strengthening of Basic Medical Sciences Departments at UHS” from eligible candidates for the grant of scholarships for pursuing higher studies leading to the award of (PhD degree at University of Liverpool, UK.
Eligibility
Pakistan Nationals Only.
FCPS/FRCS/MECP/MCOG or Equivalent.
Maximum two (2) second Divisions throughout the academic. Career. NO Third Division.
Maximum age on the closing date of submission of application:-
(a) 40- Years for full time faculty members of public sector Universities/Colleges and R&D organizations.
(b) 35-years for all others.
Should have minimum cumulative 50% academic marks as per HEC Academic Evaluation Formula (AEF).
Candidates who are availing any other HEC scholarship are not eligible to apply.
Research Interests
Preference shall be given to candidates having research interest in the following fields:
i. Cancers, especially Breast, Colon and Lung
ii. Obesity
iii. Genetics
iv. Diabetes Mellitus, Cardiovascular Diseases, Hypertension
v. Biomedical Engineering
vi. Neuro-sciences
2. Candidates shall have to submit a Research Proposal on any topic listed above along with their applications
Selection Criteria:
The selected of the candidates shall be made strictly on merit through open national competition. The applicants fulfilling the criteria will be required to first appear before a selection Committee of University of Health Sciences Lahore and the Shortlisted candidates shall then be interviewed by a Panel of experts from University of Liverpool, UK
BOND
Selection candidates will be required to sing a bond with the UHS that after completion of their PhD they would serve the UHS for a period of 10 years.

Application form maybe downloaded from the university website i.e. www.uhs.edu.pk
Applicants will have to submit bank draft of Rs. 1000/- as processing fee (non refundable), along with the application form, in favour of Treasure University of health Sciences Lahore.
Application form complete in all respect must reach the office of Director (Admin & Coord) by 06-01-2012.
