Project Engineer - Electrical - Al Marai - Saudi Arabia

At present, the engineer is responsible for 18M SR for electrical
components of all projects. He will have subordinates who will be
responsible for the supervision of electrical work. He would call
quotations, evaluate and negotiate for best possible offer to Almarai.
The customers of projects would be the production and maintenance
departments. The facets of the job would be planning, design,
installation and Commissioning & testing. The Engineers work can be
extended for managing the mechanical/ automation and process part of
projects
Electrical Functional areas include high voltage, medium voltage and low voltage work. Work includes mainly all electrical scope for all works in the factory/ site services and automation/ mechanical/ process work for some, projects indicatively the department is involved in 30-40 projects at any one time
Core Purpose of Job:
To provide special electrical engineering skills and services to the Projects Department of Operations Division, by ensuring the design and implementation of electrical works within projects meet the Almarai specifications for Electrical Engineering and good manufacturing practice.
Areas of Responsibility (AOR)
1. Design new electrical systems to meet plant expansions and modification requirements.
2. Evaluate contractor's proposals to ensure economical and technical compliance.
3. Monitor contractor's work to comply with company quality standards.
4. Maintain safety measures to ensure minimal electrical accidents.
5. Coordinate with other departments to implement smooth handing over of projects without delay.
6. Solve site problems to avoid completion delay.
7. Provide technical guidance to enhance subordinates Capabilities.
8. Increase involvement in the automation component of Projects.
9. Ensure that the PM is informed / appraised of Electrical Project work activity/scheduling and work progress.
10. Coordinating with Contractors to ensure timely completion of projects.
Qualifications
* A Bachelors in Science Degree (specialized in Electrical Engineering) from a recognized University
* The Corporate Membership in a professional Electrical Engineering Institution
* Computer literacy in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, Power Point.
Experience:
* Experience not less than 10 years in electrical projects, design and maintenance .related work in a managerial capacity
Skills and Attitude
The Engineer shall have the technical knowledge to design applications and shall possess the required problem solving skills at site He should work together with the other project staff as a team. He shall have the ability to coordinate with internal branches for decision making on technical issues. He shall have the ability to negotiate with suppliers and contractors to obtain the best mix in terms of cost and quality to Almarai. Experience in process plant automation.
