1 -  Support Operating system(s) and Application(s)

  • Responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of VAS systems and applications.
  • Manage and control the operation and maintenance activities for all VAS platforms to ensure uninterrupted services.
  • Plan and manage the operation of information technology security systems.
  • Planning and development of information technology security strategies and policies.
  • Ensure sound security practices are followed.
  • Performs administrative tasks such as documentation and providing status reports.
  • Ensure that upper management is informed on all critical issues pertaining to the area responsible for.
  • Meet quality and performance KPI with supporting documents.

2 - Development/maintenance software and system

  • Interact with the customers to know their requirements, plan changes and develop changes.
  • Overlook design, development, testing and implementation of extensions for old and new support applications and tools.
  • Play lead role in activities related to application upgrades and system migrations.
  • Deliver finished, high quality and compelling software.
  • Act as liaisons between vendors and Wataniya Telecom.
  • Handle annual maintenances of contracts for all system for the department.
  • Provide input for network strategy and refinement of business plans.
  • Provides input for the development of operating and capital budgets, ensuring that adequate provision is made for the funding of all planned activities. Monitors expenditure for effective cost control and justifies variances.
  • Responsible for developing cost analyses, design considerations, and implementation time-lines.
  • Ensure compliance with all National Mobile Telecommunications Company, Division and department procedures and policies.
  • Responsible for feasibility studies of a system before making recommendations to senior management.
  • Convenes regular team meetings to keep staff informed of developments, initiatives and seek feedback on problems encountered.
  • Preparation of various weekly/ monthly reports relating to staff and achievement in the department.
  • Plans, prioritises and manages activities of staff involved in the Technology functions, ensuring that they support business plan achievement and contribute to the development and refinement of network and IT related strategies.

3 - Staff

  • Proactively manage and motivate the team to be highly professional and results oriented.
  • Work to improve employee performance through personal coaching and identifying training and development needs.
  • Ensure Individual Development Plans (IDP) are completed for all staff in accordance with Wataniya Telecom policy.
  • Recruit reporting staff as required.
  • Conduct annual performance appraisals (Performance Management System) and ensure objectives set are monitored and achieved.

4 - Other

  • Proactively take responsibility for self improvement by staying well-informed of developments, knowledge and innovations in relevant field of expertise.
  • Other duties as directed by supervisor or other superiors.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related discipline and appropriate registration with a recognised professional institute
  • 10+ years relevant experience
  • 4+ years management experience
  • Excellent command of both written and verbal English, Arabic would be an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge in VAS Technologies
  • Good knowledge of MS Office applications like Excel, Word etc.
  • Ability to operate in a diverse multicultural, multinational work environment, exhibiting appropriate sensitivities
