Core Responsibilities:
  • Draw up a (technical) design for IT solutions, review this for accuracy, completeness, consistency and control and maintains this design.
  • Develop and test new IT solutions according to the functional design.
  • Maintain and test existing software.
  • Draw up additional functional specifications and technical specifications.
  • Put together the program documentation and maintain them.
  • Ensure compliance with all National Mobile Telecommunications Company, Division and department procedures and policies.
  • Assists where necessary the customer to solve problems or to make small changes.
  • Advises the organization in the design of the production environment.
  • Maintains internal and external contacts at executive level.
  • Co-ordinate with division staff, prepares hand-over/transition documents and plans.
  • Ensure that upper management is informed on all critical issues pertaining to the area responsible for.
  • Meet quality and performance KPI with supporting documents.
  • Provide and manage support on special project as and when assigned by seniors and superiors.
  •  Supports the implementation of applications.
  • Prepare the acceptance tests and guides the system implementation.
  • Set the outline of the implementation plans, indicating possible technical bottlenecks.
  • Manage projects related to software development to ensure that project is delivered on time, within scope and within budget.
  • Contribute to the motivation of junior staff, providing day to day assistance where necessary
  • Proactively take responsibility for self improvement by staying well-informed of developments, knowledge and innovations in relevant field of expertise.Other duties as directed by supervisor or other superiors.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years relevant experience
  • Good knowledge of Unix OS and Shell Scripting
  • Experience of the full software development lifecycle
  • Knowledge and understanding of GSM technologies
  • Expert in JAVA, C++ and Web Technologies
  • Experience in databases e.g. Oracle, MySQL, Informix
  • Knowledge of IP Networking & TCP/IP
  • Knowledge of basic business functions and firm understanding of design methodology
  • Experience of Object Oriented Programming/ Modular Programming
  • Good knowledge of MS Office applications like Excel, Word etc.
  • Excellent command of both written and verbal English, Arabic would be an advantage.
  • Bachelor degree in Telecom Engineering or related discipline and appropriate registration with a recognised professional institute
