Job Purpose

  • This role will lead the expansion of Alghanim's credit offering to existing Alghanim retail units and new 3rd party retailers.
  • At present Alghanim only offers EasyCredit to Alghanim customers, where it is taken up by ~20% of customers.  Alghanim aims to widen its offering of retail finance products, as well cross-sell other financial products to expand our share of wallet.  The principal expansion for Alghanim will be to service other retailers to both expand and protect its current market share.
  • Some of these products will be developed in-house, others in conjunction with financial institution partners.  This role is responsible for developing both in-house and partner solutions.
  • Securitisation of receivables is key to the 3rd party retailer expansion, and running Credit's relationship with Rasameel (investment advisors on Securitisation) will be critical.
 
Experience:
Key Accountabilities
  • Develop the retail credit offering by focus on customer value and ensuring that both product and process developments are designed with the customer in mind.
  • Launch of Sukuk Securitization, Sharia finance and 3rd party retailer Easy Credit/ Sharia finance.
  • Develop non-credit financial products to enable cross-selling of other financial services products to Alghanim's significant customer database.
  • Evaluation of appropriateness and viability of financial services products in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Work closely with the Marketing and Risk teams to develop the product features of all of Alghanim's financial services products to maximize profitability and product penetration.
  • Identify other revenue streams that will assist with the profitability of both Retail Financial Services and other Alghanim Business Units.
 
Qualifications:
Skills, knowledge & experience required
  • Likely MBA from recognized university (focus strategy / investing / marketing)
  • Strong English language capabilities, Arabic a real asset
  • ~10 years experience in professional environment (banking, non-bank financial institution, consulting, investment banking, respected company)
  • Previous financial services experience necessary
  • Innovative in idea generation and problem solving
  • A self-motivated and driven individual who wants to be challenged and grow
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Team player with ability to coach and train younger team members
  • Experience in structuring and delivering presentations
  • Runway to be GM in the future
