The UNODC Country Office for Pakistan (COPAK) is tasked with assisting Pakistan through its recently developed Pakistan Country Programme (2010-14) with a focus on needs related to illicit trafficking and border management, criminal justice and drug demand reduction and HIV/AIDS. To address the need for administrative, finance and logistical management, sub programme II (Criminal Justice) requires the services of a Sub-Programme Associate.
Assignment Objective

• Carry out all the administrative activities in support of programme implementation along with providing assistance in logistical arrangements for SP II events such as meetings, training, round tables and conferences;
• Arrange travel and related logistics for sub-programme II team including advisor and programme officers.
• Prepare purchase requisitions for procurement in consultation with SP II team and assist procurement department to invite quotations and make comparison statements related to these procurements;

Under the general supervision the Security Advisor, Islamabad and in close coordination with the Chief of Field Office and Polio Team Leader, the position will be responsible for supporting the Polio eradication campaign in Karachi by providing quality analysis of security situation relevant to the Polio Programme, which is currently under threat. This post will also be working closely with provincial Polio as well as security team for the smooth enablement of the Programme in Karachi.

Under the guidance of the Chief of Operations, incumbent will be responsible for the assessment of accounting and financial documentation associated with programme sections programme implementation, direct cash transfers (DCT), programme cooperation agreements (PCAs) and other payments made related to the programme. The incumbent will also be responsible for the assurance activities of UNICEF partners in a harmonized approach to cash transfer modality.

• The North Waziristan IDP emergency (and any other emergencies that might occur during the term of the contract); and
• The August/September 2014 audit.

The Driver provides reliable and safe driving services ensuring high accuracy of work. The Driver demonstrates a client-oriented approach, high sense of responsibility, courtesy, tact and the ability to work with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.

Under the overall supervision of the Chief, Strategic Management Unit, the incumbent will be responsible for managing and coordinating the programme financial management as well as audit and assurance activities for the country office. The incumbent will support execution of programme finance services and ensure effective and transparent resource utilization with integrity. The position promotes a client-oriented approach consistent with UNDP rules and regulations.

Under the supervision of the responsible Officer, the incumbent provides reliable and safe driving services to the operations and program staff (including consultants) in the Office. Drive official vehicles for the transport of UNAIDS staff, officials and visitors, meeting personnel and visitors at the airport and assisting them with basic visa and customs formalities when required; and ensure the delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items.
